Notice of Public Hearing Concerning Application

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on September 27, 2022 at 5:30 p.m.at Pendleton Town Hall, located at 310 Greenville Street, Pendleton, S.C., The Town of Pendleton will hold a public hearing concerning a grant application to be submitted to the South Carolina Department of Commerce, Grants Administration on or about September 30, 2022, for a Community Development Block Grant.

The Town of Pendleton is requesting $500,000 in grant funds for a neighborhood revitalization project in the West Pendleton neighborhood. The proposed activities are based on the community priorities outlined in the West Pendleton Neighborhood Revitalization Plan (July 2022). Requested grant funds will be used to construct new sidewalks along Winston Street, repair existing sidewalks in the neighborhood and to install new lighting and security cameras throughout the West Pendleton neighborhood. The Town of Pendleton will commit $100,000 in local matching funds towards the West Pendleton Neighborhood Revitalization project. It is estimated that this project will benefit 190 people in the proposed service area.

This public hearing and the matters to be discussed are subject to the provisions of the Town of Pendleton Citizen Participation Plan, developed in anticipation of participation in the State of South Carolina’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, providing for the participation of the citizens of the Town of Pendleton in the planning and implementation of community and economic development projects which will involve CDBG funds.

The Citizen Participation Plan and the application are available for review at Pendleton Town Hall 9AM to 5PM, M-F.
