Position: Police Officer

The Town of Pendleton is accepting resumes with applications for the position of Police Officer. This position requires a community-oriented officer who has excellent interpersonal skills, and who can effectively enforce the laws and ordinances of the State of South Carolina and the Town of Pendleton.

Position hours: Full-time position, 12 hour shifts

Job duties:

  • Patrols the Town limits to protect the safety of citizens
  • Responds to calls for service relayed by dispatch
  • Prepares detailed written incident and investigation reports
  • Conducts follow-up on investigations assigned
  • Conduct Community Engagement projects throughout the year
  • Other duties as prescribed by the Chief of Police

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED and must be a minimum of 21 years old
  • Must possess or be able to complete certification from the SCCJA
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and have the physical ability to perform essential job functions
  • Must pass physical, psychological and background check

Pay info:  Uncertified/$40,000   Certified/$42,000-DOE/DOQ

Position: Code Enforcement/Animal Control Officer

The Town of Pendleton is accepting resumes for the vacant position of Code Enforcement / Animal Control Officer. This position enforces laws and ordinances regarding zoning, business licenses, the International Property Maintenance Code, and regulations involving animals within the Town of Pendleton.

Position Hours: Full-time position with a flexible schedule.

Job Duties:

– Conducts field investigations to identify violations of nuisance, zoning, junk and debris, abandoned vehicles, housing, life safety, and other related Town of Pendleton Codes.

– Maintains records: photographic evidence, invoices, liens, notices, and orders. Makes personal contact with responsible persons and performs follow-up investigations to ensure remedial action has been taken.

– Make court appearances for any citations issued and develop and maintain accurate case files.

– Responds to and investigates calls or complaints involving domestic animals.

– Responds to calls for service; captures, contains, and impounds stray or animals at large, investigates animal bite reports, and issues citations to violators of applicable laws and ordinances.

– Completes any administrative duties required.

– Other duties as prescribed by the Planning/Zoning Director.

Qualifications:

– High school diploma or GED is required.

– One to two years of experience or training in animal control or care is preferred.

– Have the ability to learn the applicable laws, ordinances & regulations.

– Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

– Possess a current SC driver’s license.

– Must pass a background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

Class 1 Certified Law Enforcement Officer.

Pay info: Minimum yearly salary range from $37,500 to $50,500 with an expected starting salary of $43,000 DOE along with a great benefits package.

Position: Laborer

The Town of Pendleton is accepting applications for a Laborer with the Public Works Department. This position requires that an applicant must perform a variety of semi-skilled work for the Town’s Public Works Department.

Position hours: Full-time position

Job duties:

  • Picks up solid waste containers throughout Town and deposits into a collection vehicle
  • Performs grounds maintenance for Town buildings and property
  • Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
  • Other duties as prescribed by the Public Works Director and Assistant Public Works Director

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • A valid South Carolina Driver’s License
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must pass a background check.

Pay info:  Salary is $31,200 yearly along with a great benefits package.
