TOWN OF PENDLETON
GENERAL ELECTION 2023
The Municipal Election Commission of the Town of Pendleton announces the
General Election for the Town of Pendleton to be Tuesday, November 7, 2023.
The following offices shall be included in this election:
Councilmember from Ward 2 for term expiring November 30, 2027.
Councilmember from Ward 4 for term expiring November 30, 2027.
People desiring to vote in the upcoming election must be registered by October 9, 2023. To register, one must contact the County Board of Voter Registration.
Citizens desiring to be candidates for one of the above-listed offices may file by petition at the Pendleton Town Hall, 310 Greenville Street, Pendleton, SC 29670. Books will be open for filing at noon on August 10, 2023, and remain open during regular business hours until noon on August 24, 2023.
The filing fee for Council is $10.00.
This is a nonpartisan election, and no party affiliation shall be placed on the ballot.
The precinct and polling location is as follows: Pendleton Precinct votes at the Pendleton Elementary School, 902 E. Queen Street, Pendleton, SC 29670.
You will be asked to show one of the following Photo ID’s at your polling place:
*S.C. Driver’s License *ID card issued by S.C. Dept. of Motor Vehicles
*S.C. Voter Registration card with photo *Federal Military ID *U.S. Passport
The polls shall open at 7:00 a.m. on Election Day and close at 7:00 p.m.
At 9:00 a.m. on said Election Day, the poll managers will begin examining the absentee ballot return envelopes. This examination will be held at the Anderson County Board of Elections at 301 N. Main Street, Anderson, SC 29621.
On Thursday, November 9, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. at the Anderson County Board of Elections at 301 N. Main Street, Anderson, SC 29621, the Municipal Election Commission will hold a hearing to determine the validity of ballots challenged in this election.
In the event of a tie, any run-off will be held two weeks after the election on Tuesday, November 21, 2023.
