Comprehensive Plan
PURPOSE OF THIS PLAN
A comprehensive plan serves as a “roadmap” for a municipality during a ten-year period. It outlines a vision, and then describes the steps to take in order to fulfill it. Since its last full comprehensive planning effort and update, the Town of Pendleton has grown substantially. The Town of Pendleton, like many other communities across Upstate South Carolina, is at a crossroad. This report represents the culmination of a year-long effort to determine where the Town has been, where it appears to be headed in the years to come, and the steps the Town will have to take to make it happen. This document is a compilation of material reviewed, conclusions reached, and policies developed by the citizens of Pendleton, the Town of Pendleton Planning Commission, and Town staff in the effort to update the 2013 Town of Pendleton Comprehensive Plan. The findings of this effort are to be used as general goals for guiding the long-term development of Pendleton. The products of this study are an Existing Land Use Map, Future Land Use Map and an updated Comprehensive Plan. The three products provide information on the current and projected needs, vision, and goals of the citizens of Pendleton that will guide future land use decisions.
