Veterans' Park

Friends Of The Park / Barrett's Place / Master Plan

Veterans Park is located inside the town limits of Pendleton on Lebanon Road consisting of 24.78 acres. Veterans Park was built in the 1970’s and named for the many Veterans in Pendleton. The Town obtained a master plan to refurbish Veterans Park. With the help of local volunteers, a new playground was constructed and other phases of the Master Plan are presently being implemented.

Veterans Park is home to many annual events including, Diamond Day, various tournaments, as well as the annual Freedom Fest Celebration.

FRIENDS OF THE PARK is an organized group of Pendleton area citizens dedicated in helping to make Veterans Park the best it can be for our children and all citizens. It is governed by Pendleton Pride In Motion, a 501C3 organization. FRIENDS OF THE PARK works closely with the Town of Pendleton and also with Pendleton Recreation Association who provides youth sports for the town. The group is committed to providing area sports which results in a healthy and safe environment for our children and citizens.

FRIENDS OF THE PARK was organized after the amazing community effort was made to build Barrett’s Place Playground. In 2005 over $180,000 was raised and over 1600 volunteers participated in the five day build of Barrett’s Place. FRIENDS OF THE PARK is committed to continued improvements and additions to the Veterans Park Recreation Area. FRIENDS OF THE PARK works diligently to ensure that our mission is fulfilled. The many volunteers involved in the park give a feeling of “ownership” to the park and instill a desire to continually work to keep it clean and safe for our children.
