Each Spring and Fall, Public Works perform hydrant flushing. This is done by opening fire hydrants and allowing them to flow freely for a short period of time. It is done to maintain water quality in our water distribution system. Hydrant flushing has several benefits including clearing sediment from the lines and giving crews a chance to monitor our system.
This Fall, flushing in Town will begin the week of November 12, 2018, and will continue until all hydrants have been flushed. Public Works crews will flush in the late evenings to avoid as much interruption to your normal service as possible.
If you experience discolored water, run your water until clear. If your water continues to remain discolored, contact Town Hall at 646-9409.
Thank you for your patience as we maintain your water distribution system.
